ADD Trader is back……….!

I know, you all thought I was one of those casualties of trading, whose blog was going to fade into oblivion, until WordPress deleted it ten years from now.  Or perhaps I blew up my account and went broke.  No such luck!  Just semi-took the summer off.  A lot has happened since I last posted.  As most of you know, I have been taking Adderall to help with my ADD.  It has been a great success so far.  The Adderall does not just solve your problem, but it helps take away the physiological part of ADD, so you can better work on the behavioral part.  I have made great strides over the summer, but since there is nothing more boring than hearing someone talk about their “breakthrough”, let’s just say that my trading as well as my personal life has improved greatly.

As I said, I semi-took off the summer.  And by following Trader X’s adage about “trading less, and making more”, I have in fact had a great summer.  I have almost exclusively traded ICE (short and long) and CFC (short only), and in doing so, have increased my account by 25% since June.  No, that is not a misprint……..25%!  It has mostly been momentum trading (although I did go short into CFC’s earnings…the easiest money I ever made).  The difference between now, and how I used to momentum trade, is that I have learned to scale in and out of positions better, not betting the whole farm on any single breakout or breakdown.  I have used some of the candle signals used by Jamie and X in their day trading to better time my entries and exits.

 I am looking forward to getting back to day trading (post-Adderall) starting very soon.  I will be moving to an office outside my home very soon, and this will allow me to be at my desk ready to trade when the market opens, opposed to now when I can’t trade til about 10:30-11:00 because I have to take my daughter over to my mother-in-laws, as my wife will now be doing that.

I have been keeping up on the blogs of those I enjoy like Trader Mike, Trading Goddess, OONR7, Prospectus (and the gang at MTM), as well as The Closet Daytrader.  And I never miss the best one….Jamie (Wall St. Warrior). It seems as if Victoria has disappeared, and right about the same time as X.  I always suspected they were one in the same.

I am more excited about trading than I have ever been, and I am motivated about taking a more focused and disciplined approach to my trading.

P.S. Anyone see the “buy under” on APTM?  Trading at almost $7.00, they announce a buyout the next day at $6.25….LOL!  Even though I made a little over 40% on the trade, it still annoyed me.
